Which activities are not disclosed

The following types of activities are not disclosed to the Finnish Transparency Register:

  • small-scale lobbying activities

  • ordinary dealings at government agencies

  • data collection for journalistic purposes

  • participation in working groups set up by the authorities or regulated by law, in advisory boards or similar multi-member bodies set up for a public task, and in hearings organised by Parliament or the ministries, the participation in which is documented

  • appearances at public meetings and public events

  • mass communication, sending of newsletters or customer letters

  • communication included in central government ownership steering

  • contacts made as an affiliated entity of a political party with the same political party's representatives, parliamentary assistants, ministers, special advisers to ministers and State Secretaries appointed for the term of office of the minister

  • lobbying consultancy provided to public-sector actors

  • communication the disclosure of which may endanger public or national security

  • acting as a rapporteur appointed by a public authority.
